Aphorism
Inspired by Nassim Taleb’s aphorisms in his book The Bed of Procrustes, I came up with one of my own while watching Alan Greenspan on CNBC for a few minutes this morning:
When someone continually says "what the data tells us is..." the data almost certainly is telling something different.
It may be even truer if ‘someone’ is changed to ‘an economist’.
